Finally, we have The People’s House – Inside The White House With Barack And Michelle Obama ( download here for Rift), a piece that made headlines for featuring the former President in 360 degrees. Then there’s Mission: ISS, a space-set experience developed by Magnopus ( download here for Rift). One is Story Studio’s last project, Dear Angelica ( download here for Rift), which was easily its best and most memorable piece. ![]() The other experiences are in the Outstanding Original Interactive Program category, and they’re all made by or in collaboration with Oculus itself. Finally there’s The Simpsons: Planet of the Couches ( watch here). One of those is the VR experience based on Netflix’s hit TV series, Stranger Things ( watch here), another is the VR experience that ties-into the Amazon TV series, Mr. Three are in the Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media Within A Scripted Program category. The nominations for this year’s awards have just been revealed though, and there are plenty more VR experiences recognized.Ī total of six VR projects are getting nods this year. You can see the trailer for yourself here: ![]() Of course, this being ‘Stranger Things’, you can never count on matters being quite that simple. But are these simple flashbacks or something more sinister? The trailer also teases the fate of Millie Bobby Brown’s breakout character Eleven, who was seemingly lost after confronting the Demogorgon. For Will, this apparently includes catching glimpses of the Upside Down as he goes about his otherwise normal life. Namely that Will Byers (who is due to have a larger role this year) will continue to feel the effects of his ordeal in the Upside Down. In particular, the trailer underscores a point that was already clear by the end of the first season finale. It was always clear that the watchword of the show’s second season would be “ consequences.” Now, with the unveiling of a three-minute trailer at San Diego Comic Con, we can begin to get a sense of just what shape those consequences might take. When ‘Stranger Things’ took the world by storm following its premiere last summer, there was one question that was on the minds of fans and producers alike: How do you follow that? It’s a tall order, to say the least, but The Duffer Brothers are undoubtedly up for the challenge. ![]()
